Brighde Dougherty Joins Force Coaching StaffOct. 10, 2009 Santa Barbara, CA - West Coast Force director Paul Ramsey is pleased to announce that Brighde Dougherty has joined the staff for the Force. Brighde will start her coaching with the Force U-17 team playing in the Santa Barbara Play-Day at UCSB on October 18th.
Brighde was most recently the head coach of the NCAA DIII team at Pomona-Pitzer
and has also been an assistant coach at her alma mater, William Smith College in
Geneva, New York. While a player at William Smith, Dougherty led the Herons to a
61-9 record, two league titles, three NCAA Tournament appearances and the 2001
ECAC Mid-Atlantic Championship. An IWLCA/US Lacrosse All-American, she totaled
85 goals and 26 assists for 111 career points. Brighde joins UCSB coaches Ramsey and Jillian Boyd on the West Coast Force staff. "It will be great to have Brighde coaching the Force with us," says Ramsey, "and the timing for her joining us couldn't be better with Jillian and me also coaching UCSB and SBCC at the play-day."
