The West Coast Force is a lacrosse club for players from California, Oregon and Washington and players who plan to attend college in California, Oregon or Washington and players who have ever been to California, Oregon or Washington. West Coast Force is owned and operated by East West Sports Camps, Inc and coached by the UCSB coaching staff. It is a travel program for Open, U-23, U-19, U-17, U-15 and U-13 teams with an emphasis on participation in international events and tournaments not normally attended by other travel clubs. 2013 West Coast Force International Tours - Sep 15, 2012
Three international tours for lacrosse players are on tap for West Coast Force lacrosse travel club in 2013. West Coast Force teams are going to Australia, Canada and Japan. The trips to Australia and Japan are for open teams of the first 20 players who register and pay their $750 deposit to hold a spot on a tour. The trip to Canada is for Under-19 girls to play in a U-19 tournament alongside the World Cup for Women's Lacrosse.
Japan is the first trip to go out, June 5th - 17th. It is the fifth time we've toured Japan and we will visit Osaka or Nagoya, Mt. Fuji and Tokyo. Games will be played mostly against university teams and regional select teams but games with the Japanese National Teams are possible. Here's our video from our 2012 trip to Japan. Australia is the next tour, June 19th - July 1st, and some U.S. based athletes will fly directly from the Japan Tour to Australia, some Japanese players may join in and other U.S. based athletes will fly straight from the U.S. to Down Under. The tour includes a great drive from Sydney to Melbourne along a magnificent stretch of coastline.
The third tour of the summer is an Under-19 girls team going to Canada July 11th - 15th. The World Cup for women's lacrosse is in Canada and this tour includes playing in an Under-19 festival and watching some world cup games.
Dates & Destinations
Last year, West Coast Force traveled to Nagoya, Mt. Fuji, Gotemba Hot Springs and Tokyo in June 2012. That trip continued the tradition of a West Coast Force team participating in the International Friendship Games in Japan for the second time.
Previous trips led by Lane Jaffe and Paul Ramsey competed under different team names in 2007 & 2008. The 2013 trip to Japan will be the fifth tour of Japan in seven years. West Coast Force is the group to use for international lacrosse travel.
