Brighde Dougherty is in her first year coaching West Coast Force. Brighde was most recently the head coach of the NCAA DIII team at Pomona-Pitzer
and has also been an assistant coach at her alma mater, William Smith College in
Geneva, New York. While a player at William Smith, Dougherty helped the Herons to a
61-9 record, two league titles, three NCAA Tournament appearances and the 2001
ECAC Mid-Atlantic Championship. An IWLCA/US Lacrosse All-American, she totaled
85 goals and 26 assists for 111 career points. Extremely active with the youth lacrosse movement in her home state of New Jersey, Dougherty served as the head varsity coach for the girl’s lacrosse team at St. Rose High School. Through Good Sports USA, she designed and managed the first lacrosse camps for girls along the New Jersey shore, and established a thriving indoor high school lacrosse league which draws teams from all over Central New Jersey. A Sea Girt, N.J., native, Dougherty graduated from William Smith with a bachelor’s degree in media and society, and a minor in education.
