It's been an absolute blast the past couple days with all the players (new and old) coming out to practice! Thank you so much to all the players who are helping continuing the club lacrosse program here at Davis, the players are the backbone and really the heart of our teams and without all the interest we've been garnering over the past few years this club would probably not be here. Shout out to all the brand new players who've never picked up a stick before (let alone had to try talking with a mouthguard) and are now passing and catching like they've been doing it for years, we LOVE new players. Okay, that's the end of the sentimental rant. 

Some people have been checking here to get Dave's (the A team head coach) contact information and we figured it would proably help to actually have that on here. So without further ado, just send Dave an email at wlaxcoachdave@gmail.com if you have any questions about practice plans or if you end up having to miss practice for some reason. Don't forget to fill out the class conflicts googledoc we sent out at the beginning of the week! Hey there Aggies!

We will be hosting our Fall Info meeting for any and all interested in playing club lacrosse on Wednesday October 10th at 7:30 pm in the ARC Meeting Room 1! Come out and hear all the nitty gritty details of joining one of the greatest teams out there. There also may be an appearance by quite a few chocolate chip cookies. We can't wait to see you there. But don't worry if you can't make it, just shoot us an email at womenslacrosse@campusrec.ucdavis.edu and we'll send you all the details. 

Also, tryouts start the next Monday October 15th on A street field at 7 pm! Be sure to bring cleats, lacrosse stick, goggles, mouthguard, student ID, and water (don't worry if you don't have a stick or goggles, we will bring extras; but a mouthguard is mandatory to play and costs a dollar at Rite Aid).

Hey Aggies!

We are currently accepting applications for head and assistant coaches for this upcoming 2012-2013 season. We would greatly appreciate it if you circulated this around or talked to old coaches or players who might be interested in coaching the 2011-2012 National Champions! Both teams are in need of head and assistant coaches (coaches will only be working with one team so applicants should indicate which team they are interested in coaching). 

Both teams consist of approximately 20 student athletes dedicated to, as declared in our mission statement, “playing excellent lacrosse at the club level while maintaining a positive and fun atmosphere for all members.”  We compete in the Western Women’s Lacrosse League (WWLL) against teams from California and Arizona. Applicant must have lacrosse experience as a player and/or coach. With an interest in the improvement and overall success of the players, applicant must be able to work with all skill levels and all field positions. The time requirement is three times per week from October to December and five to six times per week from January to May, including games on almost every weekend either at UC Davis or traveling throughout California.  Salary is for the season is approximately $2000 for Head Coaches and approximately $1000-1500 for the A and B Team Assistant Coaches. Whether you’ve been with us a couple years now or are just now discovering the awesomeness that is the UC Davis women's club lacrosse program, this is the website for you! Here you can find information regarding upcoming games, directions, results, as well as how to contact us regarding any and all questions you may have.

If you’re interested in joining our team please email Amy Corstorphine at womenslacrosse@campusrec.ucdavis.edu. We love getting new players whether they've played all four years of high school or have never picked up a lacrosse stick before. We have an ‘A’ and a ‘B’ team so players (regardless of how experienced they are!) are encouraged to try out. 

We are a Division 1 member of the WWLL playing against teams from California and Arizona along with added travel to tournaments across the country. For the past three years our team has made it to the WCLA Nationals tournament with some pretty exciting results in 2012 but you can find more information about that here. We will be holding a Fall Info meeting in early October with tons of insider information so be sure not to miss it!
