2013 USC Women’s Lacrosse Club 

 Player Information

  

For the A-team, roster size will be limited to 18 players.  Tryouts may be necessary for ALL players including returners.

 For the B-team there is no roster limit and tryouts are not required to join.

Dues

Dues are inclusive* (the team pays for all in-season lodging, transportation, flights, most meals when traveling, uniforms, officials, tournament fees, coaches, and team gear).  Individual gear is separate. Dues are non-refundable.

* For 2013, the Hawaii Trip is optional and requires an additional payment of $800 (inclusive).

Fall Dues:

 $200.00          

Spring Dues:    

$650.00                

Total Dues Summary:    $850.00 + $800 (optional Hawaii Trip)

**Players will receive a $150.00 discount  if dues are paid in full (BOTH Fall and Spring) by July 1, 2012  

**Players will receive a $100.00 discount if dues are paid in full (BOTH Fall and Spring) by August 1, 2012

Fall Practice Times

Tues./Thursday: 6:00-8:00 p.m. (Cromwell Field)

Fundraising

Each player will be required to fundraise throughout the season. 

 

Our fundraising goal for the 2013 lacrosse season is $16,000.  

 

This will allow us to continue to provide a quality playing experience throughout the year.  For 2013, your donation will help us to provide a 20% subsidy per player for the Hawaii trip and continue to defer the cost of coaches salaries, league dues, officials fees, hotel rooms, charter bus rentals, equipment, team gear and provide team meals on the road.

Homecoming

Each player will be expected to work one-two hour shift at homecoming selling team merchandise.  Shifts will be filled based on seniority and assigned by homecoming committee chair.

Games

The projected number of games for either team is 16.  No games will be played the weekend before or during Spring break.  Both teams will try to coordinate travel together as much as possible.

Tryouts for A team

Players wishing to be considered for the A-team should be able to meet the following testing benchmarks and tryout criteria:

Benchmarks

1.)    Either  Run 1-mile in under 7 minutes and 30 seconds OR  Run 2-miles in under 16 minutes 

2.)    Sit-up max test: perform at least 70 modified sit-ups (per USMA guidelines)  in under two minutes

3.)    Push-up max test: perform at least 35 push-ups (per USMA guidelines) in under two minutes

4.)    Jump Rope: 2 minutes of continuous revolutions: must achieve over 275 rotations

 Tryout Criteria

 1.)    Ability to demonstrate strong stick/catching skills using both hands

 2.)    Must  demonstrate speed, endurance, quickness, and field awareness

 3.)    Must be coachable and accepting of club philosophy

 4.)    Ability to throw/catch in pressure situations

 5.)    Demonstrate knowledge of man, zone, spy (match-up zone), post defenses

 6.)    Be a confident, reliable, determined and dedicated teammate

 7.)    Evaluation of performance in man-up, man-down and even situations

 8.)    Evaluation of playing performance & attendance throughout Fall Ball 2012

 New Players/Rookies

 New players will be given equal opportunity to tryout for the A team provided that they meet the above mentioned tryout benchmarks and criteria.
