John Faranda, the Cougar faculty advisor, is the ambassador-at-large for Claremont McKenna College. For more than 40 years, he has been centrally involved in various aspects of external relations and fundraising at the College, including CMC's Leaders in the Making Campaign and the Fifty Years of Leadership Campaign. John became involved in Claremont Lacrosse by helping the Club with our budgeting and fundraising efforts. A proud 1979 CMC graduate, John also serves as the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps sailing coach and as the immediate past president of Claremont Heritage, the local historic preservation organization. A member of the Board of Directors and Board secretary of the Pomona Valley Chapter of the United Nations Association, John also is a past president of the Inland Empire/Orange County chapter of Recording for the Blind and Dyslexic and a past president of Community Friends of International Students. John is a recipient of the CMC Alumni Association's Jack Stark Distinguished Service Award; the Association's annual student service award is named in his honor. Pictured above, in 2019, Claremont Lacrosse bestowed John with the “Cougiest Coug Lifetime Award.”
