Force Head West to Hawaii

Waikiki, HI - The West Coast Force will open play in the Hawaii Lacrosse Tournament on Saturday morning with a 10:00am game versus the Hokkaido U-20 team from Japan. Hokkaido is a city on the island of Sapporo in northern Japan. It is the first time the team has played as West Coast Force in the Hawaii tournament. The team competed as East West Sports Camps in 2008 and advanced all the way to the championship game before falling in overtime to Team Breakaway. A Force Under-19 team participated in the Hawaii Tournament in 2008 but nobody from that team is on this Force team.

The Force have two players in Hawaii who were on their travel team to Japan for the International Friendship Games in June. Jillian Boyd (Virginia Wesleyan) and Jessica Seggman (SBCC) played together on that tour of Nagoya, Gotemba Hot Springs and Tokyo. The Force have players from ASU, Cal Poly SLO, Minnesota, SBCC, SUNY Fredonia and Wittenberg filling up the roster. Boyd is one of two who played for East West in 2008. Laura Hunt (Minnesota, Duluth) played last year too.
