The Vikings defeated SFU, a pre-season top 25 MCLA D-1 lacrosse program,  9-5 in a rare Friday afternoon game at Viking Field. While "Simon" scored the first goal, the Vikings remained focused offensively and their defense was punishing in a very physical game. 

The Vikings welcomed the Clan to Viking Stadium.  It marked a reunion of three former Vikings who now play for SFU.  Travis Hayes, Rolando Aldana, and Sebastian Darby were all great Vikings and it was great to see them grace Viking Field again.

On Saturday, SFU fell to NCAA D-2, Notre Dame de Namur 7-6. SFU had two shots on goal in the closing seconds but couldn't get the tying goal in the net.  To punctuate the significance of the Vikings' victory on Friday, SFU on Sunday, manhandled Chico State, last year's 20th rated, Division I team in the nation, 19-4.
