Taryn Muchnick is in her second year as Texas Women's Lacrosse Assistant Coach. In her first year, she helped the UT Women's lacrosse team achieve its highest ranking at Nationals ever! Taryn joined the UT coaching staff from UCLA where she was a four year starter on the "A" Team, serving as captain and president her junior and senior years. During her time in college, UCLA reached the Western Women's Lacrosse League Championships every year and consistently finished in the Top 15 in the WDIA (now the WCLA) The highlight of her lacrosse career was a trip to the 2007 WDIA National Tournament. She graduated from UCLA in 2007 with a degree in Political Science and moved to Austin in September 2010 to work for the Austin-based non profit organization, Marathon Kids.

A native of Southern California, Taryn started playing lacrosse at Palos Verdes Peninsula High School in Palos Verdes on their inaugural girls lacrosse team in 2003. The first lacrosse game she ever played in was against the Texas Longhorns at the 2003 Santa Barbara Shootout.
