Nine Gauchos Earn WWLL Honors
Chico, CA - Eight UCSB players and a coach were named to all-league teams at a short awards ceremony on the first day of play at the WWLL Championships. The UCSB A Team had five players named and the UCSB B Team had three players selected. Seniors Kristen Dickey and Kristyn Gherardi and junior Katie Moran were selected to the WWLL DI All-League First Team. Sophomores Maggie Aker and Monora Seth made the WWLL DI All-League Second Team. Sophomore Brittany Barry, junior Amanda Lago and senior Katie Tibbs from the UCSB B Team were awarded spots on the WWLL DII All-League Team. UCSB A Team head coach Paul Ramsey was named WWLL DI Coach of the Year.
WWLL DI Second UCSB continues play on Sunday. The UCSB B Team plays Occidental in a 9:00am game for 3rd place in the second division. The UCSB A Team play Cal Poly SLO at 1:00pm for the first division championship and the league automatic bid to the WDIA National Championship Tournament in Denver, Colorado Mary 7th - 10th.
