Become A Referee In Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo and Ventura

The Southern California Women's Lacrosse Umpire Board and the Santa Barbara Girls Lacrosse Association (SBGLA) are teaming up to develop officiating for girl's lacrosse in Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo and Ventura. 

The next introductions to officiating are October 23rd and October 24th.

• Thursday, October 22nd:
  • 7:00pm:  New Zealand at UCSB (Optional)
    
    • Directions For Recreation Center Turf

• Friday, October 23rd:
  • 4:00 to 6:00pm:  Intro To Officiating at UCSB
    • Recreation Center Classroom 2103
      
  • 6:30 to 7:30pm:  Cal Poly SLO at UCSB (Optional)
    • Directions For Recreation Center Turf

Purpose Of This Outreach:

To provide an introduction to officiating girl's lacrosse. High school players may officiate youth girls in Kindergarten through 8th grade. College players may officiate youth through high school. Adults, out of college,  may officiate youth through college.

Pay Scales

• Youth Games in Santa Barbara Pay $25 Per 40 Minute Game
  
• High School Games Pay $60 for JV and $63 for Varsity Per Game.
• College-Club Pays $105 to $130 Per Game.
• NCAA Games Pay Even More.

Pertinent U.S. Lacrosse Women's Game Officiating Ratings:

• Youth Rating: Anyone at least two years older than the age group they're officiating can qualify to officiate youth games.
• Apprentice Rating: An apprentice official is an adult official who is qualified to officiate all youth, middle school, high school junior varsity and some high school varsity games.
• Local Rating: A local official is an adult official who is qualified to officiate all youth, middle school, high school junior varsity, high school varsity games and some college-club games. (L1, L2 and sometimes L3 ratings are issued).
  
• District Rating: A district official is an adult official who is qualified to officiate at all youth, middle school, high school junior varsity, high school varsity, and a variety of college level games.
• National: A national official is an adult official who is qualified to officiate at all youth, middle school, high school, and all college level games.
