Baumann Brothers To Coach Inaugural SBCC Men's Lacrosse Club

Santa Barbara, CA - Tyler and Zach Baumann have signed on to coach the first year SBCC Men's Lacrosse Club. Tyler Baumann will be the Head Coach and Zach Baumann will be Associate Head Coach. A boon for the young program, the two brothers have a history of making a new lacrosse program go. The Baumann Brothers started the Southern Oregon University men's lacrosse club, an MCLA DII program, when they first enrolled as a students at the University in 2005. Where there was at first no lacrosse program there was soon a team eventually ranked as high as 7th in the country for MCAL DII. The Baumann Brothers have experience getting a program going and bring great value in this area of development for the new team at SBCC.

While at Southern Oregon Tyler Baumann led the team in scoring and averaged 5.25 points per game his junior year. Senior year he moved to midfield to fill in there after huge losses in the position due to graduation. Tyler Baumann will coach the attack and the midfield.

Coach Tyler Baumann graduated from Southern Oregon with a B.S. in Criminology and a B.S. in Video Production with an emphasis in Post Production and was a National Dean's list recipient. He resides in Santa Barbara and works at KEYT Television Station producing commercials.

Coach Zach Baumann will take charge of the defense and the goal keeping. Zack Baumann played all over the field at Southern Oregon, including stints at attack, midfield and long pole defense. Primarily a goalie though, Zach saved 52.3% of the shots taken against him over his four year career.

Zach Baumann graduated from Southern Oregon with a B.S. in Communications and a B.S. in Video Production with an emphasis in Editing. Coach Baumann resides in Santa Barbara and works at KEYT Television Station producing commercials.

The SBCC Men's Lacrosse Club opens up pre-season practices participating in a mini camp at UCSB this weekend.

10am to Noon - Practice
