Dillos Drop 2 consecutive road games to Tampa and TallyFeb. 3, 2011 Jacksonville: 11 VS Tampa: 15 Jacksonville got off to a hot start leading 5-1 after the first quarter thanks to some unselfish passing and some great goaltending by Mike Jones who stopped multiple point-blank attempts early. Tampa cut into the lead in the second quarter, and took a 6-5 lead into the half, courtesy of long possessions and some great riding as Jacksonville struggled to settle the ball on offence. The second half belonged to Tampa as they began to pull away- and the depth of Jacksonville’s road squad was exposed as the team drops its second in a row. Jacksonville Scoring: Nick Williams (6g 3a) Matt Carey (3g 2a) Ty King (2g 2a) Dan Smith (1a) Ben Banse (1a)
Jacksonville: 14 VS Tallahassee: 21 Jacksonville came out of the gates firing, dominating the possession in the first quarter but struggling to hit the back of the net, as the team hit 4 pipes in the 1st quarter. The Armadillos lost Midfielder Ken Shultz to a serious Knee Injury in the 2nd quarter, cutting the already slim road squad even further. Jax managed to hold on to a 1 goal lead at the half, before the up and down tempo of Tally got the best of the Dillos in the second half. Tally put up 8 goals in the 3rd quarter as Jacksonville was unable to threaten the lead after that, dropping their 3rd straight game. Jacksonville Scoring: Matt Carey (5g 3a) Nick Williams (4g 3a) Joe Donovan (2g) Ben Banse (2g) Brook Chase (1g)
