Dogs down SkyhawksMar. 31, 2013
MSU defeated The Point University Skyhawks 14-3 on Saturday. The game was the first game for the Dogs since early March, but the dogs showed plenty of spark, as seven different MSU players found the back of the net. Leading the attack for the Bulldogs was Brandon Owens, who had a career game with two goals and seven assists. He controlled the offensive tempo and consistently found ways to create scoring opportunities. Also scoring from midfield was Andrew Banker and Mason Wallin. From the attack, Daniel Cammack, Reese Oppenheimer, Ben Bradley, Blaine Yarbrough, and Ben Hester all registered points. Defensively, senior goalie Nathan Mcbride got the win. He and goalie Adam Sullivan held the Skyhawks to just three goals. The win brings MSU's record to 3-3, and also extends the Bulldog's winning streak to three games. Next weekend the Dogs will travel to Rogers, Arkansas to play the University of Arkansas and the University of Nebraska.
