Mississippi State Lacrosse
HeartbreakerFeb. 24, 2012 UTC topped the Dogs 13-12 in front of 100 loyal State fans last night. UTC opened the game on a tear, scoring 4 unanswered goals in the first quarter amidst some questionable penalities. Sophomore Attack Brandon Owens then got the dogs going with two right handed rips to pull within two goals. Fellow sophomore Attack Ben Hester then scored on a nice feed from Benjamin Bradley, only to see UTC respond with a goal of their own. The game went back and forth with several ties, until UTC scored in the last minute and held the Dogs on the final possession. Ben Hester led the scoring with six goals and two assists, while Brandon Owens notched three goals of his own, and Ben Bradley scored two. Mississippi native Sean Offenberger scored his first goal of the spring to round out the scoring. The Dogs eagerly look forward to meeting UTC again in the conference tournament.
