Tennessee vs. Ole MissMar. 3, 2013 Tennessee - 6: Ole Miss - 4 The Volunteers finished up thier weekend trip to Tuscaloosa with a SELC matchup against the Rebels of Ole Miss. Tennessee was looking for a win after a heartbreaking double overtime loss to Alabama the day before. Tennessee came out strong in the first quarter with two unanswered goals from sophmores attackers Paul Dingee (Brewster, NY: Brewster) and David Fluharty (Millsboro, DE: Sussex Tech). The Rebels would answer with one goal in the second and three unanswered goals in the third to even the score at 4-4 going into the fourth quarter. Freshman Midfielder Taylor Szalay (Memphis, TN: Houston HS) and Paul Dingee both scored unanswered goals in the fourth quarter to put the Rebels to rest. Sophomore Midfielder Jason Springer (Brentwood, TN: Brentwood HS) led the team in groundballs with 4 and a handfull of other vols would scoop up two or three each. At the faceoff x, Szalay would dominate the Rebels winning six out of his nine faceoffs. The Volunteers showed a different look between the pipes against Ole Miss. Sophomore Chris Melson (Memphis, TN: Presbyterian Coll.) made eight saves to anchor the Volunteers defense. Your Tennessee Volunteers will be on the road again next weekend as they travel to Memphis. The Volunteers will be hosting thier annual invitational tournament held at Memphis University School. The Vols will play three games against Oklahoma University, Iowa State and Western Michigan.
