Tennesseev - 4: Georgia Tech - 5 The University of Tennessee closed finished thier second home game of the weekend against another tough opponent in Georgia Tech. The match was a war of attrition as both teams had played another game earlier in the weekend. The match turned out be very low scoring as each team would only score a single goal each quarter until the fourth, when Georgia Tech cashed in two to upend the Volunteers.

Only Two Volunteers would net goals on the day. Senior attackman Kevin O'Neil (Herndon Valley, VA: Chantilly) scored one, and junior midfielder Matt Herner (Louisville, KY: Trinity) registered three goals. Sophomore attack dou Jack Donelan and Paul Dingee (Brewster, NY: Brewster) would both tally an assist.

The Vol's faceoff unit dominated at the x going 9:13. Freshman Taylor Szalay (Memphis, TN: Houston HS) led the way winning six faceoffs while also picking up four groundballs. Junior longstick midfielder Chris Koloup (Towson, MD: Loyola Blakefield) led the team with five groundballs and senior defender David Ruben (Memphis, TN: MUS) was next with four.

Georgia Tech brought a strong offense to the table as they outshot the Vols in every quarter of the game (total 31:17). Senior netminder David Catterton was up to the challenge. He made 14 saves to keep the Vols within striking distance for the duration of the game.

The Volunteers will be on the road next weekend for two games. They will be traveling to Tuscaloosa, AL to face The Crimson Tide of Alabama and the Rebels of Ole Miss.
