UCSB Wins First Round Game In Hawaii

Waikiki, HI - UCSB opened up official tournament bracket play at the Hawaii Lacrosse Tournament by outscoring the Rocky Mountain Cats 4-1 in the second half to win the game 5-2. The Gauchos scored the first goal of the second half to go up 2-1 and eventually led 4-1 before the two teams traded goals for the final score. UCSB out-paced the Cats, a post-collegiate team from Colorado, in the final 20 minutes to get the victory. 

The win advances the Gauchos to a tournament quarterfinal where they will face often-time tournament champion LAX Northwest Rippers. The team of players mostly from Seattle upended their morning opponent, Misbehavin' of Canada, 14-2. Game time is 1:00pm on Field 2 at Kapiolani Park.
