UCSB & SBCC Coaching Staff In Japan For International Friendship Games

West Coast Force In JapanNagoya, Japan - UCSB women's lacrosse coaches Paul Ramsey and Anna Rogers and former SBCC head coach Ashley Antoon-Algieri are in Japan for the International Friendship Games.

Hosted annually by the Japan Lacrosse Association (JLA) the Games are a chance for American teams to tour Japan and play Japanese lacrosse teams. Ramsey is directing and coaching West Coast Force, an international travel club, and Rogers & Antoon-Algieri are player-coaches.The JLA is the national governing body for the sport in Japan, akin to U.S. Lacrosse and a member of the Federation of International Lacrosse (FIL). The FIL runs the women's world cup, the men's world games, the U-19 women's world cup and the U-19 men's world games.

The 12 day tour takes the team to Nagoya, Mt. Fuji, Gotemba Hot Springs and Tokyo. Eight days of the trip are set aside for sightseeing and four days of the trip have seven games scheduled. It is the fourth time Ramsey has taken a team to Japan. It is the first time participating for Rogers and Antoon-Algieri. For more information visit the West Coast Force website.
