UCSB WLAX File PhotoBaltimore, MD - The Gauchos held onto the top spot in the WCLA National Top 20 Poll after 20-13 and 21-7 wins over unranked University of San Diego and University of Southern California, respectively. UCSB received 7 first places votes and 229 points in the poll. The club from University of Florida held steady in the second spot narrowly edging out a fast rising Colorado State team that moved up from 5th to 3rd in the poll. In typical Colorado State fashion the two-time defending national champions started the season at 13th and have steadily moved up with improvement the last six weeks. The Rams, 9-3 overall, have won eight straight games since a loss to then #1 Michigan on February 19th.

UCSB is 10-1 overall and plays next at home when they host 10th ranked Chapman University in a WWLL Central match-up in UCSB Harder Stadium at 11:00am on Saturday. The Panthers are 11-2 overall and have been ranked as high as third this year. Common opponents between the two teams are many and scores against those common opponents have been similar with one exception. UCLA downed Chapman 13-9 at Chapman but the Gauchos upset UCLA 17-10 at UCSB when the Bruins were 5th ranked and the Gauchos were 6th ranked.

"Great game of lacrosse coming up right here at UCSB and it's our senior game for our seven graduating seniors," says UCSB head coach Paul Ramsey about the upcoming game.

"Everyone should come."
