Third Ranked UC Davis Powers Past UCSB

Davis, CA - UCSB dropped an away contest at the hands of the club from UC Davis 16-6 at Aggie Stadium. The Gauchos were down 4 goals ten minutes into the game and trailed 9-4 at halftime. A short early second half UCSB rally got them to within 4 goals again at 10-6 twelve minutes into the second half but the rally was short-lived.

UCSB had scored 4 of the last 6 goals and the last 2 in a row and it looked like a comeback might be in the making. Then UC Davis turned it back on. The Aggies scored 6 unanswered goals over the remaining 18 minutes of the game, although the last 3 UC Davis goals were scored in the last minute of play to get the game result to the 10 goal difference. UC Davis kept winning draw controls and kept shooting to their advantage. 

UCSB junior goalie Jeni Centner (Tustin, CA) had 18 saves for 52.9%. Sophomore Lindsay Remigio (Syosset, NY) led UCSB with 2 goals and 2 assists. UCSB falls to 5-3 overall. Third ranked UC Davis improved to 5-1. UC Davis hosts UCLA on Sunday and the Gauchos continue their road trip with a 2:00pm game at 4th ranked Santa Clara University.
