UCSB File PhotoSanta Barbara, CA - The exhibition game between UCSB and the NCAA DIII team from St. John Fisher College (Rochester, NY) will be played on the UCSB Lacrosse Field (aka The Pit). The Cardinals have been in California since Friday for spring break training at UCSB. The Gauchos play them at 12:30pm on Monday. St. John Fisher then travels south to play their NCAA DIII season opener at Claremont-Mudd-Scripps on Wednesday.

New sod was laid in January down the middle strip of the UCSB Lacrosse Field by the UCSB Department of Recreation. This work has made it more playable than in, perhaps, the last ten years. The facility opened today for the first time this season for the UCSB men's lacrosse team's game with Colorado State. It is the second game on grass for the UCSB women's lacrosse team so far this wet season. UCSB won 21-10 on grass at UCLA on February 13th. All the other games for the Gauchos this season have been on turf.
