Shootout Goes To Rain Plan Schedule

Santa Barbara, CA - Based on the expected 3" to 4" of rain heading the way of the Central Coast of California over the next four days the 23rd Annual Santa Barbara Shootout has put a Rain Plan schedule into effect. All the information anyone could need, including the Rain Plan and the Rain Plan Schedule, may be found on the Santa Barbara Shootout page of this website. The plan takes the tournament off the grass fields, which do not drain well, and reduces it to the available artificial turf fields.

More turf fields are in the future at UCSB. The Rob Field turf complex is going to be expanded by one full size field providing us with three Field Turf fields in one location. There is also a student fee initiative going on the ballot this spring to install 3 to 6 turf fields on Storke Field. If this passes it will result in 6 to 9 artificial turf fields being available for future Shootout use at UCSB.
