Gauchos Prevail Against Alumni 12-7Box Score
Nov. 14, 2009  Santa Barbara, CA - The annual UCSB lacrosse alumni weekend featured games for both the men's and women's lacrosse teams at UCSB. In the men's alumni game it was all youth as the current team won 10-1. The current Gauchos kept the men's lacrosse alumni off the board until the 3rd period, blanking them for the entire first half. The UCSB women's lacrosse alumni made a game of it against the current team and the score was 5-5 at half-time in the 65 minute game. The current team responded by running off 4 unanswered goals in the first ten minutes of the second half to take a 9-5 lead. An alumni goal by Wendy Lyn (Class of '92) on a nice pump fake feed that wasn't a feed and instead turned into an inside roll dodge put the alumni within 3 goals at 9-6. Afer that the Gauchos scored 3 goals in a row to take a 12-6 lead. The last goal of the game was scored by the alumni in the 64th minute after 5 minutes were added to create more playing time for everyone. The final was 12-7 for the current UCSB team.
