UCSB Captures 9-8 Overtime Win over Florida at WDIA National Championship TournamentMay. 9, 2009 Scottsdale, AZ - UCSB sophomore Ashley Antoon-Algieri (San Ramon, CA) scored the winning goal 3:18 into the overtime with Florida on a tic-tac-toe passing sequence involving sophomore Alyssa Nelsen (Denver, CO), junior Sam Lutz (San Diego, CA) and eventual assister freshman Meg Cruse (San Diego, CA) to give UCSB a 9-8 win. The Gauchos rebounded from their tough 18-16 loss to Colorado in the semifinals and captured third place in the WDIA National Championship Tournament with the victory over Florida.
