UCSB Bounces Back With 9-6 Win over FloridaFeb. 13, 2009 Santa Barbara, CA - A 4-2 half-time deficit was not too much for UCSB to overcome in the second game of the Shootout. Facing the University of Florida after a slow start and almost comeback against 6th ranked Michigan, the Gauchos again started slow but stormed all the way back and then some to win going away 9-6. That final score came courtesy of a 7-2 second half outburst that tied the game at 5-5 and then eventually sealed the deal for UCSB. Senior Camille Elguero (Woodside, CA) came off the bench to spark the attack and get game high scoring honors with 3 goals. Elguero scored her second goal of the game to give UCSB an insurance goal and make it 8-6 but she wasn't done and collected a pass from senior Katie Moran (San Rafael, CA) to get the hat trick with 57 seconds remaining in the game. Freshman goalie Jeni Centner (Tustin, CA) had 6 saves while junior Monora Seth (San Diego, CA) led the defense for the second straight game with 4 ground balls and 4 caused turnovers.
