Jaime Schumaker Santa Barbara, CA - Jaime Schumaker, a Southern Oregon native, joins the UCSB coaching staff after a playing career at the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, Washington where she double majored in Psychology and Spanish Literary Studies. After graduation, she accepted the head coaching position at Stadium High School, also in Tacoma. During her year there Jaime led the Tigers to an 8-4-1 season and a play-off berth in their first year as a Varsity A team.

“It was an amazing opportunity to coach those girls,” says Jaime. “Getting out on the field, working with the athletes, creating a competitive edge, and promoting a wealth of lacrosse knowledge are my passion. Jumping into a head coaching position helped me realize that there is a career out there for me doing something that I love.”

Entering her second year as a coach, Schumaker feels ready to take the step up to the college level. Her primary responsibility will be as head coach for the B Team at UCSB. Overall program head coach Paul Ramsey is pleased to be able to land someone like Jaime.

"Finding someone who has head coaching experience as well as NCAA DIII playing experience is fantastic for us," says Ramsey. "Jaime will be involved in coaching all of our players during Fall Ball and then we will turn the B Team over to her for the regular season and let her run with it."
