The Gauchos outshot UC Davis 36 to 20. Freshman goalie Diane Clow (Poway, CA) had 7 saves while the UCSB defense forced 6 Aggie shots wide. The win improved UCSB to 16-0 overall and 14-0 in the WDIA. It set up a 1:00pm semifinal game vs. 9th ranked UCLA. The Bruins were a 20-9 winner over San Diego State in their morning quarterfinal game. On the other side of the bracket #3 seed Cal Poly SLO beat #6 seed Chico State 11-4 and #2 seed Santa Clara overcame a slow start against #7 seed UC San Diego to win 17-3. That set up a showdown between Santa Clara and Cal Poly SLO in the other semifinal matchup.
