The Gauchos are Rated #1 in RPI, in Quality Wins and the TSI
Santa Barbara, CA - UCSB is currently holding the #1 spot in the US Lacrosse WDIA Coaches Poll, released every Wednesday during the season. The Gauchos are also rated #1 in the Ratings Percentage Index, commonly referred to as the RPI. The RPI is based on the record of a team's opponents and the record of the opponent's opponents. Another index available on LaxPower is the Quality Wins Factor index. The Gauchos are currently listed in the top spot on that index as well with more wins over ranked opponents than any other WDIA team. The Tournament Selection Index is a list that takes into account as many of the factors as it can that are related to being selected at-large for possible play-off consideration. It is close to taking into account all the typical considerations used when committees sit down to select and seed teams in post-season play. Other LaxPower indexes where UCSB ranks high include the Computer Rating (5th) and Strength of Schedule (11th). All of these indexes go 211 USL WDIA teams deep and UCSB is leading the pack in most of them.
