WCLA LogoBaltimore, MD - U.S. Lacrosse released the first WCLA poll of the 2016 season and UCSB is ranked 12th in the country for college-club women's lacrosse. The Gauchos, who were ranked 20th at the end of last season, are currently 4-2 with wins over the clubs from Arizona, Arizona State, USC and Washington. UCSB losses have come to top ranked Michigan (4-1)  and 7th ranked Colorado State (5-0).

"This is nice recognition for the players as a small reward for all their hard work so far," said UCSB head coach Paul Ramsey after seeing the poll.  "We've improved from last season but we're still aiming at putting together a complete game and this weekend is the time to do it."

Looming large for UCSB is a contest this Friday at 10th ranked Cal Poly SLO. The Mustangs have a 5-2 overall record and have similar results against two common opponents, Arizona and Colorado State. This version of the Blue-Green Rivalry between the two schools starts at 5:00pm on the Mustang turf.
