UCSB Hosts And Plays In SB Fall Brawl

Santa Barbara, CA - The Gauchos hosted the 8th Annual Santa Barbara Fall Brawl and played four short scrimmages. UCSB dropped their first game of the day at the hands of the players from NCAA DIII Whittier, calling themselves gaLAXy, 7-9 after being tied 4-4 at halftime. From there the Gauchos won 8-5 over Cal State San Marcos and 10-2 over Tricheck Lacrosse Club. It set up a shot at UCLA in the final game of the day for both teams. UCSB took a 4-3 halftime lead over the Bruins but UCLA stormed away with the second half and won 9-6. UCSB heads into a brief period of fitness and stickwork for the remainder of the non-traditional season but are done playing scrimmages. 

The UCSB White team also played in the Fall Brawl and were 1-2. The Gauchos won their opener 9-2 against the UC Irvine Blue team and then played up against WWLL D2 team UNLV and a mixed UCLA squad. UNLV bettered the Gauchos 11-5 and then the Bruins won 15-2.  The UCSB Blue team is a roster of future A Team candidates and the White Team are B Team candidates. 

The Gauchos open on the road to start the regular season on the road in Arizona playing University of Arizona and Arizona State, January 30th & 31st.
