Fantastic Fifteen Find Way To UCSBAug. 26, 2014 Santa Barbara, CA - Fifteen first year prospects are joining the UCSB women's lacrosse club for the 2014-15 academic year. It's a fantastic group with every position on the field covered. Two talented goal keepers lead the way and the newcomers include ten freshmen and four junior transfers. Fantastic Facts: 15 Newcomers, 11 Freshmen, 4 Transfers, 5 Attackers, 4 Midfielders, 4 Defenders, 2 Goal Keepers, 13 Californians, 1 Michigander. The Fantastic Fifteen are almost a team themselves. The group will get their first college action when they take on Humboldt State in a fall ball scrimmage on October 4th as the UCSB FT Team. Expected to join them as new UCSB lacrosse players are another dozen or so novices picking up lacrosse for the first time as Gauchos. UCSB is famous for taking beginners to round out their rosters to ensure consistently having competitive 'A' & 'B' teams ever since 1992. "We're pretty pleased," commented UCSB head coach Paul Ramsey. "I'm not going to single anyone out but with these newcomers and our returners we have all the individual talent we need." "How they all team up and whether they choose to over-achieve will make for good or great lacrosse." Listed below are all the newcomers with previous playing experience from before enrolling at UCSB. Keep an eye on the on-line roster on this website to see who else joins the program once the fall term starts. UCSB Class of 2018
