UCSB Wraps Up Whittier
Santa Barbara, CA - UCSB hosted NCAA DIII Whittier College in the second and final exhibition game of the pre-season for the Gauchos. UCSB led 7-1 at halftime and wrapped up their exhibition season with a 12-4 win over the Poets. Senior Blair Evans (Salinas, CA) led all scorers with 6 goals. The Gauchos won 8 of the 16 draw controls and UCSB outshot Whittier 22-11. Eight Gauchos had at least one goal or an assist. Senior Megan Hughes (Tustin, CA) had 7 saves. The Gauchos take to the road for their season opener next weekend and will play at the University of Arizona on February 8th. A second road game at Arizona State University follows on February 9th.
