A huge individual effort from senior Margaret Nettleton was not enough to help the Bruins overcome a late surge with under 7 minutes left by No. 8 Colorado.  The Bruins opened up the game with a 3-0 left just 7 minutes into the game, opening up the game with great ball movement in transition.  After Colorado tied it 3-3, the teams went back and forth through the rest of the first half, going into half time with a 6-6 tie.  The second half of the game continued to be competitive as the teams traded goals, never leading by more than 2. Colorado opened up a 2 goal lead, responding after UCLA goals to push the lead back to 2.  The Bruins tied the score at 13 with 11:43 left in the game, after strong defensive sets leading to Colorado turnovers.  However, Colorado scored the next 3 goals to open up a 16-14 lead, before the final score of 17-15.  Overall the Bruins had a great offensive day, shooting 78.9% (15 for 19) on the day, but possession was key.  Draws were once again the deciding factor of the game, as UCLA only won 7 out of 21 in the second half, after going 7 for 13 in the first.

Nettleton lead all scorers with 5 goals and 4 assists for 9 total points, while also wreaking havoc all over the midfield and defensive end.  Eight Bruins were on the board with junior attacker Kate Armstrong and freshman attacker Kaitlin Miller adding hat tricks.  Sophomore midfielder Molly Tracy added 4 caused turnovers and 4 groundballs for the Bruins.

The Bruins will take a break for finals week and spring break before getting back to action in San Diego, April 6th against UCSD.
