The #12 Bruins took on the #13 Bears on Saturday at 4PM in Berkeley, CA. UCLA took a 7-4 lead in the first 20 minutes of the game, only to go scoreless for the remaining 10, allowing Cal to come back for a 9-7 lead at the half. The Bruins started the second half strong to bring the game back to a tie with 23 minutes left to play. The back-and-forth battle resulted in a 17-17 tie at the end of regulation. The Bruins, however, dominated the overtime outscoring Cal 3-1 for a 20-18 victory. Freshman Kelley McCarroll-Gilbert and Junior Allie Simpson led the Bruin attack with a combined 23 points. The Bruins out-shot the Bears 49-30 in the lengthy offensive battle.

The following day, UCLA traveled to Davis, CA to take on the #3 Aggies at their home stadium. The Bruins scored the first two goals of the game and maintained the lead throughout the first 13 minutes of the half. UC Davis netted two quick goals in the 13th minute to tie it up. Both teams used full field pressure and strong offensive possessions to keep the game close for the remainder of the half, ending the first 30:00 at 7-7. The Bruins came out of the gates quickly, scoring the first goal of the second half at 2:40. However, they struggled to finish an 8M opportunity and two long offensive possessions, which gave the Aggies a chance to build a 5 goal lead over the next 16 minutes. 18:00 into the half, the Bruins fought back to bring the game within 2. With only 3:00 left on the clock, the Bruins moved into a high pressure defense, but the Aggies burned through the pressure to score two quick goals in the final 2:00. UC Davis maintained possession and came away with a 15-11 win. The Bruins struggled all game with controlling loose balls, winning only 8 of 28 draw controls. Junior goalie, Devon Comito, had a strong performance with 22 saves, while the pair of McCarroll-Gilbert and Simpson on attack led the Bruin offense with 13 combined points.

UCLA 'B' took an early lead Sunday against UC Davis 'B', but could not hold on in a 17-9 loss.

With finals and spring break on the horizon, the Bruins will not play again until their April 2 match up with WWLL Central opponent, #7 Cal Poly-SLO.
