Kate Fleming Joins UCLA Staff As B Team Head CoachThe Bruins are excited to welcome California native, Kate Fleming, to the coaching staff as Head Coach of the UCLA B Team. Kate's experience as both a player and a coach make her an invaluable addition to the UCLA team. She joins the program after 2010 WWLL Division 2 Coach of the Year, Vanessa Carnes, relocated to San Diego. Sep. 16, 2010 Kate was a member of the inaugural Division I program at the University of Oregon, where she played from 2004-2007. She was named to the All-MPSF Tournament Team in 2005, led the team in goals (33) in 2007 and was named to MPSF All-Academic Team in 2006 and 2007. Fleming helped earned the Ducks a No. 20 ranking by Inside Lacrosse DI Media Poll in just their 3rd season as a DI program. During her time as a Duck, Kate coached the Oregon Elite Girls camp from 2004-2006 and lead her camp team to the championship game 2 out of 3 years. She also coached the Twilight league in Eugene, Oregon during that time. She graduated in 2008 with a degree in Communications and a minor in Business Administration. During her four years at La Costa Canyon High School in Carlsbad, CA, Kate was selected as an All-American, CIF Player of the Year, North County Times Player of the Year and First Team All-League by the San Diego Union Tribune. Additionally, she was an Academic All-America selection, MVP and team captain.
