After a challenging weekend in Colorado, the Bruins dropped from #6 to #10 in the latest WDIA poll. On Wednesday night, UCLA started their first game back at home slowly, allowing the #23 USC Trojans to lead 3-2 less than 9:00 into the game. However, it was clear they would not settle for another loss. At 9:45 in, the Bruins began an 8-goal streak, to end the half 10-3. The scoring streak continued into the second half, and the Bruins finished the game out with a final score of 17-6.

With sophomore Devon Comito and team captain, Hayley Wheeler on the sidelines, the Bruins looked to the rest of the team to step up on both sides of the field. Senior Lauren Ariniello led the team with 5 goals, while freshman Margaret Nettleton put in 4 goals and 1 assist of her own. Eight Bruins put up points for the offense, and senior Erica Zug led the defense with 5 ground ball controls and 2 caused turnovers.

The Bruins will face #3 Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo on Saturday at 3PM. The Mustangs are coming off of a big 21-9 win over the defending WWLL champions, #5 UCSB.
