UCLA Hosts 2010 Clinic and USC Exhibition GameThe 2010 UCLA Girls' Lacrosse Clinic was a huge success. Over fifty middle school and high school players participated. The current UCLA team led five groups of players through stick skill drills, defensive concepts, shooting practice, and game situations. Feb. 1, 2010 Following the clinic, UCLA hosted USC in a pre-season exhibition game. The Bruins came out strong with 7 unanswered goals in the first. Erini Blakey put USC on the board with a goal 15 minutes into the half. Eleven Bruins put up points, for a final score of 21-6. Returners, Hayley Wheeler and Morgan Oberstein netted 4 goals a piece, while rookie freshman, Margaret Nettleton contributed 4 assists to the victory. Sophomores Allie Roe and Isabel Angell led the team in ground ball controls with 7 and 5 each respectively. The Bruins and Trojans will meet again this year for their regular season match-up on April 7 at 7PM, back at UCLA. Thank you to all the players, parents, friends, and families that came! We hope to see you at a game this season. Check back to the website for game recaps, updated team stats, and more!
