This fall will mark Sam's fourth year involved in UCLA Women's Lacrosse, first year as a coach. She played for the B team as a freshman and captained the team as a sophomore, leading the division in points in 2010. In the 2011 season, she played for the A team, who dominated in the National Tournament, upsetting three teams (including the #1 seed) to achieve 2nd in the nation. Sam has been awarded Academic All-American all three years playing at UCLA. She plans to graduate from UCLA at the end of December with a major in Psychology and a minor in Linguistics. Born in Phoenix, AZ, Sam went to Desert Vista High School, where she played soccer and ran cross country. She got involved in lacrosse during her junior year, and she was named Rookie of the Year. During her senior year, she was a member of the state's All-Star team. For soccer, cross country, and lacrosse, she received the Scholar Athlete award for each year of participation. She was also awarded Midfielder of the Year in 2008.
