In his second season, Christopher Figueroa takes over the reigns as Head Coach for the Bobcats.  Before being promoted to Head Coach, Figueroa served as Associate Head Coach and was responsible for the defense and goalies with Texas State.

Figueroa made the jump to the college game after spending 8 seasons heading the Spartan Boy’s lacrosse team at St. Stephen’s Episcopal School up the road in Austin. While with the Spartans, he helped them win their first District Championship and took the school on their first trip to the State Tournament. He joined the program in their second year of existence, and by the time he left they were yearly contenders in the Central District.

Figueroa played high school ball at James Bowie High School in Austin, Texas. He then joined Texas A&M Men’s lacrosse team, where he would eventually meet Coach Park. While playing defense with the Aggies, the team went undefeated in conference play, winning four consecutive Conference Championships with four consecutive USLIA National Championship tournament appearances. While with the Aggies, the team finished nationally in the top ten, three times.

Figueroa has been involved in camps, private lessons, and runs 512 Lacrosse with his brother and best friend in Austin. 512 Lacrosse is a local youth league that works with kids from 5^th grade through high school, giving them an outlet to develop and play in the off-season. He still plays with Team Viva, a tournament team put together by former A&M graduates.

Figueroa received his undergraduate degree in Journalism with a focus in Public Relations, along with a minor in Business in 2002. He currently works as a Senior Implementation Specialist for Open Lending, a local startup in Austin, Texas.
