AGG-ravatedFeb. 11, 2007 The Red Raiders came out fired up to take on conference rival Texas A&M in front of a large crowd in The Red Raiders were called for numerous violations, including 2 three-minute, non-releasable illegal stick calls. Additionally, the Red Raiders were called for various violations as a result of their aggressive, physical play. Many of these calls, however, were questionable, many felt, if not completely unnecessary. Many of the high school fans attending the games were left in shock as Tech was called for penalty after penalty, often without a notable violation occurring. Despite playing man-down for over 15 minutes, the Red Raider defense showed tremendous effort and perseverance throughout the game. Sophomore Midfielder Clayton Schneider put up multiple goals for the Red Raiders, all which spurred from his impressive play at the face-off. Senior Attackmen Chris Ford also had a great game, with multiple goals and great play in transition. The Red Raider midfield unit, lead by Junior Joe Wells and Senior Ben Brenners, also had a huge impact on the game, with great play in transition and in man-down situations.In the end, penalties killed the Red Raider effort. The large 50+ man Aggie roster was able to keep the Red Raiders on the run, and at the buzzer A&M came out with an 18-12 victory over the Red Raiders which was poorly reflective of the effort and talent that Tech showed in the match.
