Raiders Ready for Fall Tournament

The Texas Tech Men’s Lacrosse team will be traveling to Manhattan, Kansas this weekend, November 4th and 5th, to make its first ever appearance at Kansas State’s annual Tillar Tournament. The Tillar Tournament will round out the Red Raider’s fall competition and hopefully will serve as a preview for what’s to come in the spring.

On Saturday, Tech will face Harding University at 2:30 PM, followed shortly thereafter by a game against Iowa State at 5:30 PM, two teams which the Red Raiders have never faced on the lacrosse field until now. Sunday’s games will be determined by the results of Saturday’s games, in tournament format.

Despite a young team, Tech expects to compete very strongly against its out of conference competitors. “We lost a lot of key seniors last season,” said Head Coach Andrew Widmer, “but hopefully our hard work and dedication will pay off. We will be the hardest hitting, smartest, and fastest team on the field, no matter who we play.” Senior Midfielder Ben Brenners explains, “Watching our last few workouts, you’d think we were preparing for the playoffs … The energy at practice the last few weeks has been amazing, and we’re ready to show the Midwest what we’re all about.”
