Spring Lake Lacrosse 2018 Recap

On behalf of the Spring Lake Lacrosse Board, I would like to share with you the results of the 2018 season, as well as monumental changes that the program has experienced this year!. Many changes have been implemented and we are excited to continue the tradition of Excellence, Growth and Development in the Spring Lake lacrosse programs.

We have secured a path to create even more opportunities within the program for all of our athletes. We have researched and have taken the opportunity to align our path with US Lacrosse and some of the top lacrosse programs in the state of Michigan. Developing the Spring Lake Lacrosse Culture is a major focus moving forward, and these changes reflect a new sense of purpose to engage the community and benefit the growth of our athletes.

A Few Highlights 2018

1. Coaching Directors have been placed with a purpose to provide “One Voice” for the direction of each age group level. Expectations and accountability for the development of the athletes is the primary focus.

2. The Spring Lake Lacrosse Stadium locks are removed! Athletes may continue to work on their skills on the turf field (weather and special event permitting! **please review previous emails sent regarding rules and guidelines)

3. GROWTH-we had a record number 292 athletes representing 16 Spring Lake Lacrosse Teams! Spring Lake Lacrosse has become the model program representing what many other programs wish to follow. We expect even more growth moving forward. The addition of the 3-4 Girls team rounds out our club to participate at every level of competition offered in our area.

4. Success on the field! Spring Lake Lacrosse posted a record of 135-71-3.

The Varsity Boys had their deepest playoff run in history, while the Varsity Girls consistently make noise as a State contender. The JV Boys and Girls squads competed and developed our next group of Varsity athletes.

On the Youth side, our program experienced great success at all levels, highlighted by an UNDEFEATED and Lighthouse Championship Boys 7-8 Red Team.

THANK YOU to our Coaches, Managers and Volunteers who answered our call for help. YOU made this a great season and a wonderful experience for the athletes.

Moving Forward to 2019

The Spring Lake Lacrosse Board has already engaged in the work required for 2019. We expect coaches to be named and placed before the end of summer so that we can organize and allow for even more growth of the program. Even with the success of 2018, we will continue to make the changes needed and identified to make 2019 even stronger.

Developing the culture of the SL Lacrosse program cannot be accomplished without the commitment from the entire community. The success of the program will be driven by the involvement of everyone who has an athlete playing in this program first and foremost.

How can YOU help? GET INVOLVED! We Need You!!

Thank you for your commitment to Spring Lake Lacrosse. We look forward to many years of growth in the organization and development of our athletes.

GO LAKERS!!
