Introducing the New Faces to SOU Lax
SOU has added 12 new members to their 2013 squad and here is a little about them:
Kevin Main- Defense- Redding,CA. Son of Angela Main, younger brother of Erik (whom played one season for SOU), and older brother of Justin. The 6'4'' 250lb defense man comes to SOU after being named a Captain for Redding during his Senior season. Kevin plans on majoring in Business and enjoys playing basketball and football along w/ Lax.

Josh Barnhart-Goalie-Roseville,CA. Josh comes to SOU after being a Captain for the Orangevale Rams from NorCal. Josh earned 1st team NCJLA All League along w/ being named a H.S. All-American. Josh has 6 years of Lacrosse experience and also plays Ice Hockey. Josh plans on double-majoring in Criminal Justice and Outdoor Adventure Leadership while at SOU. 
Michael Connor Moffatt Kelley- Goalie- Portland, OR. Connor is the eldest son of Dennis and Jennifer Kelley and brother of Jack Kelley. Connor has been playing Lacrosse since 5th grade. Connor attended Central Catholic High School in Portland where he played Football and Lacrosse all 4 years. Connor was a Captain during his Sr. year leading his team to their best record in school history, earning team MVP, and earning All-League Honors. Connor plans on following in his fathers' footsteps majoring in History. 
Scott Murphy- Midfield- San Jose,CA. Scott has two older siblings in Mark and Lauren and his Mother is Colleen Murphy. Scott began playing field Lax in 2004 and box Lax in 2007. Scott was a Captain for the South Valley Chiefs whom went 19-0 last season winning the NorCal State Champs. For Box Lax Scott won the MVP twice and the Bay Area Super Series 3x in a row. Scott was also a Captain for the Cali Lax All stars team winning a Bronze in the Canada Day Box Lax Tournament. Scott also played for the NorCal All Star Team, NJCLA All Star Team, and the NorCal Nationals Team. Scott plans on Majoring in Communications while at SOU. 
Alex Smith- Midfield- Green Bay, WI. Alex is the son of Steve and Mary Smith with two older Brothers Bryan and Erich. Alex played 4 years of High School Lax for the Notre Dame Academy earning 1st team All-Conference in both his Jr. and Sr. seasons. Alex also played Varsity Hockey for 3 years and Varsity Cross Country for 2 years. Alex plans on double majoring in Biology and Chemistry. 
Ian Wilborn- Midfield- Phoenix,AZ- Ian is the son of John and Nancy Wilborn. Ian's older brother plays Lacrosse for Humboldt St. and his younger sister plays Lax in HS. Ian has been playing Lax for over 6 years, won his teams Warrior Award two years in a row, and was a team Captain for his Sr. year. 
Spencer Nix-Attack/Goalie- Tualatin, OR. Spencer is the son of Molly and Kip and has two sisters in Audrey and Mary-Claire. This is Spencer's 7th year playing Lax. Prior to coming to SOU Spencer played for NCAA D3 Huntingdon College where he was named the teams "Un-Sung Hero." Spencer also earned HM and 2nd Team All-League Honors in High School. Spencer plans on Majoring in English and Education and also plays for the SOU Men's Soccer Team. 
Cody Engler- Midfield- Medford,OR. Cody is the son of Sheri Engler and has a sister who lives in the Rogue Valley too. Cody finally joins the SOU team after helping the team for years with stats and filming. Cody has competed in a variety of athletics throughout his life with the most recent being Boxing. SOU is excited to have Cody as he brings good physicality to the defensive end of the field. 
Jamey Miller-Defense- Issaquah,WA- Jamey is the son of Laurie and Scott Miller and has a twin brother. Jamey started playing Lax in 2005. He and his twin brother were members of the 2010 WA State Championship Team. Jamey plans to Major in Education and Minor in Business while at SOU. 
Jaren Breault- LSM- West Linn,OR. Jaren is the son of Anthony and Holly and older Brother to Tesa. Jaren began playing Lax 5 years ago. Jaren is a Biomedical Science Major with a Business Minor. Jaren hopes to one day earn a M.D. for Physical Therapy with a focus on athletic recovery. 
Sam Taylor- Midfield- Bay Area, CA- Son of Jean and Scott Taylor. Sam moved around a lot as a kid (CA,TX,CO,and CA again) before settling into the Rogue Valley. Sam was a two time High School Ice Hockey League Champion and also played Baseball. Sam plans on Majoring in Psychology with a Minor in Sports Journalism. 
Mike Dirks- Midfield- Sandy,OR. Son of Mike and Shannon Dirks. Mike played 4 years of Varsity Soccer in High School while also playing 2 years of Varsity Golf.
