SOU Announces 2013 Schedule

SOU's Men's Lacrosse Team is pleased to announce our 2013 schedule.  

SOU will kick off the season in the Raider Hawk Stadium on Friday 2/8/13 at 7pm vs. Humboldt St.  Last season SOU defeated Humboldt in OT in Arcata,CA.  Humboldt is a much improved team and will provide SOU a formidable challenge to start the season. Humboldt will then play Pacific Lutheran University at the SOU practice fields on Saturday at 1pm.

SOU then hosts Pacific Univ. from Stockton,CA on Sat. 2/9/13 at 3pm.  PLU will then play Pacific Sunday 2/10 at noon on the SOU campus.

SOU travels to Redding, CA for the Annual Redding Lacrosse Jamboree to play the Nevada Wolfpack on 2/23 Saturday Night at 7pm.  This game is the headliner of the Jamboree which is a 3 day event hosting over 20 middle school, high school, and collegiate teams.  

St. Mary's is up next for the Raiders in Moraga,CA  on 3/2 at 2pm.  SMC is coming off their best season ever which led to a birth in the MCLA National Championship Tournament.  

SOU travels over to Santa Cruz, CA the following day to take on the Banana Slugs at noon.  Santa Cruz has one of the best fields in the MCLA overlooking the Pacific Ocean.  

On Saturday 3/9 SOU will take on Whitman College (who just moved to the PNCLL South Division with the exit of Willamette Univ) at Portland St. Univ.  Whitman is one of the founding members of the PNCLL and has made the PNCLL playoffs every year since the inception of Division 2.  SOU's all time record vs. Whitman is 3-4.  This game will have huge playoff implications for the PNCLL South Division. 

SOU will take on Div. 1 Portland St. the following day at noon. 

Central Washington Univ. travels to Ashland on Sunday 3/24 at 1pm to take on the Raiders to kick off Spring Break.  

A trip South to Los Angeles, CA is up next for the Raiders to battle two pre-season top 20 teams.  Cal St. Fullerton is up first on Thursday 3/28 at 4pm.  Fullerton won the SLC Championship 3 years in a row 2009-2011 and is pre-seson #18 in the country.  SOU then faces Concordia Univ. on 3/30  at Sage Hill School in New Port Beach at 1pm.  Concordia is coming off their best season ever earning a spot in the MCLA Nat. Championship Tournament and is pre-season #9 in the country. 

The Raiders return home to face the Univ. of Portland, who has played in two consecutive PNCLL Championship games, on Sunday 4/7 at noon.   

College of Idaho comes to Ashland the following weekend on Sat. 4/13 at 1pm in a PNCLL South Division battle. 

SOU wraps up their regular season in Monmouth,OR squaring off against the pre-season #11 Western Oregon Wolves.  

All in all SOU will take on 4 pre-season Nationally ranked top 20 teams, 3 teams that made the field of 16 for the 2012 MCLA National Championship Tournament, and many teams that are on the cusp of being National contenders.
