SOU Kicks off 2012 Fall Ball
SOU travelled to Hillsboro, OR this past weekend to kick off their fall campaign. SOU scrimmaged Lewis and Clark at 10 am on Saturday. SOU won the contest by the score of 8-3. Next up was Portland St. University. SOU scored what appeared to be the game winning goal with just seconds left as the scoreboard had stated the game was tied at that point 5-5 before the goal. It turned out PSU was leading 6-5 so the late goal earned SOU a tie. SOU took on Central Washington for their 3rd scrimmage of the day and defeated CWU 8-2. Sunday saw SOU take on Humboldt St. who pulled off the most surprising win of the weekend taking down WOU on Saturday. SOU defeated Humboldt by the score of 8-4. The last scrimmage had SOU vs. the Portland Pilots. The Pilots handed SOU their only loss of the weekend by the score of 4-0. Overall it was a great experience with everyone seeing substantial playing time and learning to play together. SOU has 4 months until their first regular season game and lots to work on. SOU will travel to the UC-Davis tournament the weekend of 10/27 for 3 scrimmages on Saturday before hosting their 3rd Annual Alumni game on 11/3.
