SOU Falls to #6 WOU
SOU lost to #6 WOU by the score of 15-4 Saturday in Monmouth, OR. WOU scored the first goal of the game on an EMO play. SOU answered with an EMO play of our own to tie the game at 1. SOU then hit pipe on two shots in a row and then hit the WOU goalie on a 1:1 opportunity. From then on it was all WOU. WOU outworked SOU in every aspect of the game especially ground balls. SOU had our opportunities as we were man-up for 11 minutes of the game. Unfortunately our execution and mental focus were lacking on saturday throwing the ball away consistently on offense and EMO. The game was to determine the #1 seed in the South Division of the PNCLL for the playoffs. Congrats to Coach Justin Brown for his first win as the Interim-Head Coach for WOU. The loss means that SOU will travel to Walla Walla, WA next weekend to take on the Whitman Missionaries in the first round of the playoffs. SOU defeated Whitman earlier in the year by the score of 7-5 but Whitman always plays well in the playoffs so SOU needs to bring their best game if we want to advance to the Final Four.
