SOU won their 2nd home game in a row vs San Jose St. on Saturday.   SOU started the game off on fire outscoring SJSU 6-1 in the first.  #3 Wyatt Knight started the scoring for SOU w/ a nice cut from x and finish inside.  #2 Verdun followed that up w/ a solid dodge from up top.  #50 McNeal put in the 3rd goal for SOU on a nice draw and dump initiated and fed by #4 Reynor.  #14 Gregg was fed by #4 again to put the Raiders up 4-0 quick.  SJSU responded w/ an unassisted goal as a pass feeding one SJSU player was knocked down ending up in another's stick directly in front of the goal.  #11 McQuown would answer for the Raiders w/ an unassisted goal.  #11 then fed #4 Reynor on an EMO play for the Raiders to make the count 6-1 after the first.

The rain and sleet picked up in the 2nd and the Raiders slowed down some while SJSU's goalie stepped up.  SOU put 7 shots on cage in the 2nd but could only sneak one past their goalie when #3 Knight was fed by #44 Cooper.  This would be the only goal of the qt. making the count 7-1 at the half.  SJSU was able to manage a couple of offensive flurries, once on EMO, but our defense was up to the task and our Goalie made 4 saves in the 2nd.

SOU found the business end of the net four times to start the 2nd half.  #11 McQuown opened the scoring unassisted making the score 8-1 for the Raiders.  This was followed by a goal from #44 Cooper on a good feed from #42 Moseanko.  #20 VanMatre scored his first goal of the season dodging through the SJSU defense and placing the ball off-side low.  #44 scored again for the Raiders on an EMO feed from #11 making the score 11-1 for SOU.  SJSU answered w/ an unassisted goal by #46.  #50 McNeal finished the scoring off for the Raiders w/ another feed from #44 making the count 12-2 going into the 4th.

SOU was held scoreless in the 4th and SJSU put two goals in to make the final 12-4 for SOU.

Game highlights were #4 Reynor winning 10 of 12 F/O's.  SOU winning the GB battle 32 to 21 and out-shooting SJSU 44 to 27.  SOU's MDD remains strong stopping both of SJSU's EMO opportunities.  Sr. Goalie #7 Boggess made 14 saves while only allowing 4 goals to remain one of the top keepers in the nation.

Next up for SOU is our first league game @ Willamette University this Saturday at 1pm.

SOU returns to home to host the College of Idaho on 4/9 at 1pm.
