SOU Defeats Whitman 7-5
SOU defeated Whitman for the first time since 2006 on Saturday. SOU met Whitman in Hillsboro, OR for a neutral site game. SOU struck first with an unassisted goal by captain #11 Sean McQuown. Whitman would score the next two goal to lead 2-1 after the first. #3 Wyatt Knight tied the game for the Raiders on a nice feed from #11. Whitman answered w/ a goal by #9 followed up by an EMO goal #6 from #34. Whitman led 4-2 at the half. The third qt. was all SOU outscoring Whitman 3-0 w/ goals by #11 Sean McQuown, #44 Justin Copper from #42 Joey Moseanko, and #22 Nick Perry from his roommate #21 Cooper. SOU only allowed Whitman to get off 2 shots the entire qt. SOU was able to push our lead to 6-4 on another goal by #11. Whitman would answer w/ another EMO goal by #9 making the score 6-5. The scoring ended w/ #11 scoring his 4th goal of the game to seal the win for SOU at 7-5. Sr. Goalie, and reigning PNCLL Defensive MVP, #7 Carter Boggess played out of his mind recording 18 saves. Whitman out shot the Raiders 40-19. Whitman also controlled the F/O X winning 10/16. #20 Campbell took all the F/O's for Whitman and was the best FOGO we've seen this year. Next up for the Raiders are the Bison from North Dakota St., currently ranked #20 in the Nation, on Wednesday at Delta Park in Portland.
