SOU Wins Home Playoff GameApr. 24, 2010 SOU defeated Central Washington University 12-5 in the opening round of the playoffs. SOU was able to control time of possession due in large part to Sr. #6 Bubba VanEdgom winning every face-off that he took on Saturday. Although we controlled the ball we were unable to put many shots on cage in the first half only scoring twice. CWU capitalized on their chances taking a 4-2 lead at the half. SOU exploded in the third starting w/ #6 winning the opening f/o, taking it straight down the middle of the field and scoring just seconds into the 2nd half. SOU would score 6 goals in the first 8 minutes of the 3rd to lead 8-4. SOU held CWU to only one goal in the 3rd and was able to put in another goal taking a 9-5 lead into the final qt. SOU would hold CWU scoreless in the 4th while putting in 3 more goals to win the game 12-5. It was a great team effort for SOU as 7 players scored our 12 goals. #7 Carter Boggess had another solid performance in cage recording 19 saves while only allowing 5 goals. Seniors #1 Ty Baumann, #6 Bubba VanEgdom, #13 Greg Morreli, and #17 Joe Robert were able to win their last ever home game, you guys will be missed. SOU advances to the PNCLL Final Four next weekend at Summit HS in Bend, OR. SOU will take on the Western Washington U. Vikings in the League Semi-Finals.
